tuesday top ten

novels...
1. My very first favorite novel that I can remember is from 4th grade...Wait Till Helen Comes...I remember reading it while listening to New Kids on the Block on my walkman...not sure how much I comprehended doing that, but I read it multiple times...thought I'd throw that one in there.
2. I am obviously a kid at heart because I LOVED the entire Harry Potter series. LOVED them all.
3. The Wedding solidified my obsession with Nicholas Sparks.
4. The Lovely Bones had me sobbing uncontrollably by chapter 2...in public no less....thought I hated it for that reason, but it's so well written that I love it.
5. Man's Search for Meaning by Holocaust survivor, Viktor Frankl. I think everyone should read this novel.
6. My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler...it's pretty much what you would expect from the title...but a good break from depressing novels which I find way too common.
7. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Never saw the movie...don't want to ruin the visions in my head.
8. The Pursuit of Happyness- did see the movie and loved both.
9. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. This was one of those novels that I was supposed to read in high school, but read the first chapter and put it away...then had to read it in college and found it to be brilliant. Might be my favorite of all.
10. and finally....I am adding my least favorite book of all time...She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb....was literally overdone....I mean, seriously? There is nothing good about that novel, in my opinion.

Oh my gosh-- you might be the first person I've met who disliked that Wally Lamb book as much as I did! Everyone raves about it but I thought it was awful.

My 10...(in no particular order)
Wuthering Heights
Cane River
Roots
Queen
The Red Tent
My Antonia

A Thousand Splendid Suns
Crime and Punishment
ok, that's only 8--enjoyed your post!

Wait 'Til Helen Comes!!!!!!!!! My sister had that in her classroom one year and I started reading it in the car and couldn't put it down. Scared the sh*t out of me as a kid - LOVED it!!! Maybe that'll be a good topic for another Tuesday - best kid books! Thanks for playing again! You rock.
