When I was a kid, we had the annual Deutschen Pfest (Pf because I'm from Pflugerville and everything that starts with an F automatically receives an honorary P at the beginning) in May. I loved Deutschen Pfest because it meant that the end of a school year was near and summer was fast approaching. Once I graduated, I would return home from college at the end of each May and return to the Pfest to see how people had changed, who they were dating, what they were studying, etc.
Well, the past 5 years, we've had a similar experience in the Cajun-infused radiology department. Crawfish Boil. I've come to associate the annual crawfish boil as the first function in a series that marks the end of another residency year. We attended our first crawfish boil when Aubrey was about 6 weeks old, and now she's four. The time seems like it has flown by, with each year bringing new residents, new babies, new friends, and new hopes for the following year. This year's crawfish boil was bittersweet because it was the last one we'll attend while living in Temple, but we had an awesome time. The girls enjoyed themselves, and Aubrey ate crawfish...weird, if you know my daughter...she even held one...even more weird! My pictures focused on the kids because they were having such a great time, here are some of my favorites:

It's really that time! I can't believe you are headed off to a new state and new beginnings. Be sappy, be wistful, splurge a little!
