just kidding.

Turns out the inspection report on a house built in 1972 is not as glowing as more recently built home...after weighing the costs of replacing the septic system {that the inspector couldn't find, btw}, grounding wires for the majority of the house, replacing the fireplace, updating the kitchen and bathrooms, and ADDING a fourth bedroom {that apparently I just made up in my head}, Dave and I BACKED out of our adorable little house on the amazing lot.  This happened yesterday.  Yesterday, we went to a new house, fell in love with it, and put in an offer.  Today we got a verbal agreement with the seller that he will, indeed, sell it to us.  You know, so we won't be homeless come May 25th.  Here it is.  Much newer, but still with all that Salado charm.  ;-)  and with only one purple bedroom to repaint.

let me also add that we LOVE our realtor, Kiersty Lombar.  She was with my during my freak out moment yesterday morning {when I realized that my four bedroom house actually had only three bedrooms}, and she immediately began pulling other listings for me to see.  Then she drove back to Round Rock for a meeting and then back to Salado for Dave to see the house.  She RULES!

never say never

Remember my post about how I said we would never, ever move from our current house?  How it was the perfect house and I could see our girls walking down the staircase on prom night?  But then there was another post where I mentioned that our house never really fit my personality?  That {and some other things} led Dave and I into a deep discussion about what is most important to us.  Turns out, having a ginormous fancy house isn't one of them.  It just isn't "US"...so we put our house on the market and bought a new one in Salado.  This is it:

And I am here to tell you peeps, it is going to be ADORABLE.  Once we get rid of the 1970's kitchen, that is {and the country blue shutters, and the country blue carpet, and the floral drapes...you get the picture}...it will be a full blown remodeling project, but we are so excited to get started.  It sits on an acre lot, close to town, with lots of trees.  And did I mention the tree-lined street you drive up on to get to this house?? and the pond at the end where ducks just swim around?? So perfect.  We close May 7.  Stay tuned for LOTS of Before & After pictures.  ;-)
