Flashback Friday

Whoa, it's been a long day! Today was Aubrey's LAST DAY OF PRESCHOOL! I can't believe it! Today was their field day, and the girls had lots of fun. I was trying to find my very favorite picture of Aubrey on her first day of daycare a couple of years ago, but I have no idea where it is! So, for flashback Friday, you get her first day of school picture from this year (goofy smile and all):

I realize this isn't too much of a flashback, but I can't believe that another school year has come and gone! A LOT has happened since she started school back in August. I feel like Aubrey has really grown up this year, and I am proud of her in so many ways. Here are a couple pictures from today:

Flashback Friday and TGIF!!!

Whoa, it's been a week! We left last Thursday for Arizona to watch Chad graduate from ASU. We are so proud of him! Dave got sick Friday night (thankfully after the ceremony), and he remained sick the rest of the weekend. We thought it was just some bad strawberry milk he drank, but turns out it was something else. We saw some friends from Temple who now live in that area, and they took us to lunch at a really cool place. Well, I ate...Dave took one bite of a grilled cheese. Sorry Marc and Karen...I hope y'all didn't end up sick too!! We loved getting to see you, though! We made it back to Iowa Sunday afternoon, but then the girls and I started puking late that night. We really weren't all better until about Wednesday! We did recover though...and GOOD NEWS finished out the week...we found a rental house in Behren's Ranch, so we won't be homeless come June! We were holding out for a rental in that neighborhood, and we're so glad we did. Now I'll know where Aubrey will start kindergarten in the fall and we'll have a place to call home (at least for a year)! YAY!

My flashback Friday is focused on my two youngest little brothers this week. Chad just graduated from college and Bink graduates from high school on June 6! I can't believe they are so grown up! There is never a dull moment with those two around, and I couldn't imagine my life without them!! Here's to Chad and Bink (Clay)!!

we all caught whatever Dave had over the weekend...puke, puke, puke, sleep, sleep, sleep...luckily we've been mostly sleeping today! but, ughhhh...what a way to start the week!

time is ticking...

I have my big ultrasound tomorrow at 3:30...I always get nervous until they tell me that everything looks normal. Hopefully everything looks great and we have a healthy baby in there!

Flashback Friday

My sister-in-law, Candice, posted about how time flies the other day and how it seems like just yesterday Aubrey was smearing beans and cheese all over her face at Chad's high school graduation lunch. It does seem like yesterday, not 4 years ago! This time next week, we will be watching him graduate from Arizona State!! I can't believe it. Hopefully Aubrey uses a fork at lunch this time.... Happy Friday!!

Just monkeying around today...

My brother just called to tell me that one of his friends, Conway, passed away early this morning. My heart goes out to his family, and I can not even imagine what they are going through at this moment. He was only 26 years old. I will always remember him as the crazy little carefree kid that would run wild with Kody. When I hear something like this, I step back and evaluate my own life and all its blessings. I spend a little more time just watching the girls play instead of worrying about the mess, I spend a little more time listening to their questions instead of worrying about what I have to do next, and I spend a little more time tucking them in at night instead of running off to get ready for the next day. I cherish every moment I hear them laugh, see them smile, and listen to them say "I love you, mommy". You never know how much time you'll have. Rest in peace, Conway.

Flashback Friday...

is going to replace "random pic Wednesday". I can never find the dice (probably because Addy takes off with them), and Wednesday always seems to escape me somehow. So, after scanning 217 pictures to put on a DVD for Bink's graduation party, I decided to start Flashback Friday. I'll start with a few of the Kohl Kids in all our cheesy glory...
